We strongly believe that the way the children look in uniform is of vital importance. It is essential that parents support the policy because it helps our school to stand out and makes our children feel proud.
Under the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 (England), there is now a legal cap on the number of branded school uniform items that schools can require. Here’s a clear breakdown focused specifically on those limits and what counts at St. Aloysius.Catholic Schools.
Our Maximum of 3 branded items are
- BRANDED School Jumper, Cardigan or tank top.
- BRANDED PE top
- BRANDED PE hoodie OR School tie (juniors)*
The daily uniform is as follows:
- BRANDED School logo jumper, cardigan or tank top (required)
- Light blue polo shirt (required- can be logo or not) The uniform shop also sell branded polo tshirts- this type is optional.
- Grey trousers, shorts or skirt (required)
- Black shoes (not trainers) (required)
- Summer dress – blue (optional)
- JUNIOR CHILDREN ONLY may wear a blue shirt with a school tie (optional)
PE Kit
- BRANDED Navy sports top with an embroidered St. Aloysius logo (required)
- Plain navy shorts or plain navy tracksuits or leggings (no logos) (required) The uniform shop also sell branded tracksuit bottoms- this type is optional.
- Trainers (any colour) (required)
- BRANDED Navy hoodie with an embroidered St. Aloysius logo (required- *see note above)
Our suggested supplier for school uniform is JK Clothing in Jarrow.
Please speak to senior staff should you have any difficulties with the purchasing of school branded uniform. The infant and the junior offices both hold used good quality uniform which can be taken for free.
On PE days, the children will wear their PE kits to school. This is twice a week from Y1 to Y6 and once a week in Reception.
Please be advised: Pupils are expected to follow our uniform policy and not wear or bring into schools items outside of this policy. School is not responsible for your child’s belongings. Please make every effort to ensure that uniform is labelled, so if it is lost our lost property can return it to its owner. Thank you.
