On Monday, Year 6 became immersed in all things history as they ventured to Newcastle to visit the Discovery Museum to undertake a workshop about WW1 and WW2. They were able to explore artefacts from the time and think about how people lived during this era of history. They then took part in a rationing activity where they had to think about how preparing meals for a family for a week with limited resources. They enjoyed using rationing books to purchase different resources and it really made them think about how limited food resources were during this time.
After this, they enjoyed exploring the rest of the museum and their favourite exhibit was definitely the Science Lab where they were able to explore light which is their new topic. a fun day was had by all and it certainly opened our mind to how life was during the wars.
