Today in Computing Club, Year Five and Year Six made a quiz using Scratch. They had to use variables and conditional statements using ‘If’ and ‘Then’. The children had lots of fun creating their own quiz about a topic of their choice and they loved testing their teacher’s knowledge. Fantastic work Computing Club!

Year Three enjoyed learning about the importance of looking after their well-being. We started by reading the story of Tiny T-Rex and the Impossible Hug and discussed how regardless of what you look like, it is important to have a big, kind heart!
Afterwards, we all gathered around in a circle and we participated in a lovely activity. The children had to pour some water into a beaker and explain a worry that they had a ndonce the water was full and started spilling out, we discussed how it is very similar to humans. We explained that if humans take on too many worries and don’t speak, they will spill out with emotion. Then, we decided to remove a cup of water at a time and come up with strategies to explain how we could try to cope with our emotions when they are too much.
Finally, all the children received a kindness bingo card to complete throughout the next few weeks. The card was full of activities to complete in their own time and once their card is full, they have to return it to the teacher!
Just a reminder Year Three – each and every one of you are amazing!

This afternoon, Year Three have been busy practising their typing skills on the computer. As a class, we took a trip up to our IT suite and logged into the computers. There were plenty of happy faces as the children enjoyed trying to get quicker with their typing and tried to use both hands to type! Well done for perservering Year Three.

This term Year One have been having lots of fun in the Secret Garden. Over the last few weeks we have learnt about the rules of the Secret Garden, experimented mark making using our own mud and berry paint, been on a nature hunt, made nature pictures and learnt about how to look after birds. All of the children have followed our special safety rules in the garden and been very sensible. Mrs Cawthorn and Mrs Kish have loved their enthusiasm and how well the children work as part of a team.
