Our Curriculum

What does learning look like at St. Aloysius Catholic Infant and Junior School?

St. Aloysius Catholic Infant and Junior Schools are officially open from 9am- 3:20pm each day. We provide a breakfast club from 7.45am and a tea club until 5pm.  We open our classrooms from 8:45am each morning to allow children to settle and begin their learning promptly at 9am; activities are provided during this time.

At Aloysius, our curriculum offer is fully embedded and has been for many years. We have specialist teaching in Music, French and PE. The teachers all receive high quality training, which is linked to our School Development Plan, to ensure that the lessons that are taught to the pupils are all of an exceptionally high standard.

We meet the needs of all pupils and as part of the wider curriculum, we ensure that the children are given an exceptional range of experiences. All children are given the opportunity to attend after school extra-curricular clubs. We have sought parental/carer opinions along with a pupil and staff voice, and now a wider range of clubs are being offered each half term. There is a small financial contribution to clubs, but no child will be stopped going to clubs for financial reasons. Each half term when clubs are being promoted, there will be a reminder of this.
