Central Station Concert

This morning our Year 5 and 6 choir travelled to Central Station to sing for the commuters.  They were singing to raise money for Smile 4 Life charity, which we have supported for the last few years.

They also entertained the metro passengers on the way back to Hebburn.

On Friday evening our Y3 and 4 children went to Beamish to sing as part of their Christmas event.  They sung by candle light in the church and sounded beautiful.  Well done!

Here are some clips of them singing:

Room on a Broom story time

Nursery B have been enjoying learning the story, ‘Room on the Broom’ this week.  They have been very busy retelling the story using lots of actions, drawing story maps and asking the kind witch from the story lots of super questions on the telephone.  They have also been on a visit to the kitchen to cook their pumpkin soup and the Secret Garden to make potion.  WOW!

Letters arrive in Y5

In Year 4, the children wrote letters to residents of a care home. Today, Charlie in Year 5 received a reply from Miss Holway’s grandma. The letter included lots of lovely details about what she did as a child and about how she enjoyed dancing – just like Charlie does! The rest of the children in Year 5 are looking forward to their replies.

Year 2 Skipping Festival 2017

It was another wonderful list of results for St Aloysius school as we competed with lots of other local schools today. We attended St Josephs Catholic Academy for the Year 2 South Tyneside Skipping Festival. The children worked hard to gain a total of 4 bronze awards, 7 silver and a fantastic 5 gold awards. This resulted in St Aloysius Blue team winning the overall competition. The children practised for many months to prepare and this hard work and determination certainly paid dividends today. Well done to all the schools who took part, who were all magnificent competitors and a big congratulations to every child who played such an important role.
