Merry Christmas

We would like this opportunity to wish you all a happy, safe and holy Christmas and send our best wishes for 2018. We return to school on Monday 8th January.  Have a fabulous time!

It was with sadness in my heart that I gave a fond farewell to the pupils, staff and governors of St Aloysius.  In the four years I have been at the school I have worked alongside your fabulous children – their hard work and positive attitudes are great.   The staff work so hard to help your children achieve their potential and it has been a pleasure to work alongside them.  Thank you parenst for all your gifts today and your support over the last 4 years.  I hope to see many of your children when they move to St Josephs.  My fabulous year group sang a song that Mrs Welsh had written for them to the theme of Jingle Bells.  Thank you and farewell.  Mrs Whyte

St Aloysius Strictly has talent

Today, various acts took part in our annual talent show.  The children, danced, sang and played the guitar.  Our judges, Mrs Dunn, Mrs Balfour, Miss Doughty and Miss Fenwick, were overwhelmed by the level of talent on display.  Mr Rushton, our compere, loved the microphone and kept the acts on track and  told everyone some ‘bad’ Christmas jokes!  We all had a fabulous morning.  Megan and Rosie and Amber and Georgina came joint 3rd, Honor came 2nd and Year 2 Ed Sheeran group from Miss Fawcett’s class won the overall event.  Well done to everyone who took part – you were all brilliant!

Here was the final word from our own talking dog …

Central Station Concert

This morning our Year 5 and 6 choir travelled to Central Station to sing for the commuters.  They were singing to raise money for Smile 4 Life charity, which we have supported for the last few years.

They also entertained the metro passengers on the way back to Hebburn.
